Barber-Nichols, Inc. (BNI) has designed and manufactured a wide range of specialty products. Most of these applications require extraordinary design characteristics. Here are a few examples that demonstrate BNI's diverse capabilities:

Computer Cooling Computer Cooling Pumps

Barber-Nichols designs and manufactures pumps for liquid and two-phase cooling of high heat flux semi-conductor devices. These pumps utilize brushless DC motors incorporated into the pump rotors which provide high-performance and eliminate rotating seals which can wear and leak. BNI's pumps can process a variety of fluids, operate in hermetic loops, and operate at sub-Watt power levels.

Since 1972, BNI has been designing and manufacturing marine pumps for light-weight, high-performance ocean going vessels. BNI has designed and manufactured self priming fuel pumps, bilge pumps, macerator pumps, chill water pumps, firefighting pumps, engine wash pumps, and electronics cooling pumps.

 

Military Vehicle Pump Military Vehicle Cooling Pumps

Barber-Nichols offers a range of preexisting and custom designed electrically driven centrifugal circulators, from 600 Vdc permanent magnet types to 400 Hz AC induction types, air or liquid cooled, mechanically sealed or hermetic. BNI can provide the full range of services you need, from the in-depth engineering analyses of the prototype and System Design & Development (SDD), to qualification program support, to Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and production quantity manufacturing capabilities.

 

Supercritical CO PumpSupercritical CO2 Pumps

Barber-Nichols designs and manufactures custom Supercritical Carbon Dioxide (CO2 ) Pumps. Because Supercritical CO2 systems often operate at 56 bar (800 psi) or higher, BNI's sealless, hermetic pumps are an excellent choice for this application.
