(BNI) would like to congratulate Makai Ocean Engineering on the dedication of their 100 kW Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) power plant and we are proud to support you in this achievement. On August 21st the plant came online, generates enough power for 100 homes, and is the first closed-cycle OTEC power plant delivering renewable ocean thermal power to the U.S. power grid. More

Barber-Nichols Inc. (BNI), a global leader in the design and manufacture of specialty turbomachinery located in Arvada Colorado, is wrapping up a major facility expansion to increase and streamline production capacity. In 2015, $1.4 Million has been invested in new machine tools, shop layout improvements, and new building construction totaling 2,000 additional square feet in floor space. The major machine tool additions include a Mazak five-axis mill, a Mitsubishi wire Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM), and an Okuma Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) which increases the company's turning capabilities to 50-inch diameter parts weighing 2,000 pounds. More
